Thank you for your support. Enjoy the program. Painter 1.0 by Carlos da Silva
I wrote Painter to be able to incorporate 80x25 text screen
graphics in my games and my programs. Programs either had to be
full-color graphics, or they had to be text-based games. Forthcom-
ing programs, especially games, will include text-based graphics.
Of course, these graphics aren't as good as full-color VGA
graphics, but they still allow a person to get a better feel for
the game, without memory requirements going out of the city. I
hope you enjoy this program, and incorporate it into your DOS batch
files or your Turbo Pascal(tm) 5.0 or higher programs.
Carlos da Silva,
President of CDS Productions
Also, check out some of the now available games from CDS
Productions. In case you were wondering, the first CDS Produc-
tion's game to have text-based graphics is Squadron. Check it out
on local bulletin board systems, or get it directly from CDS
Productions. Getting Started with Painter
To start Painter, type in PAINTER at the command line prompt.
First a snazzy CDS Productions logo will appear. It was crafted
with Painter. Screens similar to the first two pages of this
document will appear. Then the title screen will appear, followed
by the main portion of Painter.
Here is where you make masterpieces. Function keys are used

------- --------------------------------------------------------- DISPLAY, the batch enhancer and Pascal source
With the bundled program, DISPLAY, you can display paintings
in a variety of methods.
DISPLAY can spice up your batch files considerably, allowing
you to display company logos, or displaying messages superbly.
For Turbo Pascal users, (5.0 and higher) you can paste the
Procedure ShowPic into your library or procedures and functions,
and have programs with text-based graphics.
The DISPLAY program is a mere 7000+ bytes, and won't be a hard
disk hazard. Painter and DISPLAY can both be easily put on a
floppy disk system.
DISPLAY Command line format is:
DISPLAY picturefile [mode] [/BW]
Where:
picturefile (required) is the name of the painting to display.
mode is how to display it.
1 - Top to bottom wipe.
2 - Bottom to top wipe.
3 - Left to right wipe.
4 - Right to left wipe.
/BW tells the program to display it in gray-scale (black and
white). Hopeful Enhancements...
Mouse support for easy movement of the cursor.
More display modes for DISPLAY.
If you feel you need any enhancements made to Painter, please
write to the address found earlier in this document. Changes are
welcome to DISPLAY (if you have Turbo Pascal), but I would really
appreciate it, if you would tell me any changes you made to
DISPLAY, by writing to the above address.
You can always leave a message on )(evious for CARLOS DASILVA,
instead of writing to the above address, anytime.
Thank you for your support!
